Guttmann Barcelona Life

Guttmann Barcelona Life is an initiative that is mainly aimed at individuals with physical disability and reduced mobility, in particular young people. The goal is for them to have an independent and autonomous lifestyle within an inclusive context.

Guttmann Barcelona Life is an initiative from the Institut Guttmann that is designed to favour the autonomy and quality of life of people with disability who wish to enjoy an active, inclusive lifestyle following their own way of life.

Guttmann Barcelona Life is a social facility located on the site of the new Guttmann Barcelona centre, comprising a complex of fully adapted and automated apartments that offer a broad range of complementary services that are tailormade for each service user. In addition, the initiative provides an extensive portfolio of personal and support services specifically aimed at promoting personal independence.

The profile of users that Guttmann Barcelona Life is specifically designed for are young people who wish to and are able to enjoy an independent lifestyle on their own terms who require adaptations to their surroundings and personal and/or technological support; disabled people who need a safe environment with support after undergoing rehabilitation, allowing them to adapt better to their new situation and have a chance to start an independent lifestyle; and people with dependence and/or reduced mobility with short-term needs that benefit from an accessible living space.
